Sand Loop Level 401 Guide: The Tree Frog Puzzle

You finally hit Sand Loop Level 401. If you thought the previous levels were a warm-up, this one is here to check your pulse. The pixel art for this stage is a Tree Frog. Some might call it a Poison Dart Frog given the bright colors, but whatever you name it, it's a logic monster. It sits on a deep Maroon background, staring at you with those weird Red and Blue eyes.

Sand Loop 401 isn't a speed test. Don't try to blitz it. This is a pure logic puzzle where the supply tray is designed to trap you in a deadlock within the first ten moves. You have a 5-slot capacity on the belt. That is not much room for error. If you fill those slots with the wrong colors early on, you won't have the "pulling power" to reach the cups hidden behind the Ropes and Mystery Cups.

The color palette is diverse. You have Green for the body, Cream for the massive belly, Yellow for the leg accents, Red and Blue for the eyes, and that Dark Red for the background. It looks like a lot, but the real challenge is the supply tray management.

Sand Loop Level 401 Solution: The Tree Frog

Look at the frog. The majority of the canvas is Green and Cream. Usually, you’d want to clear the background first, but in Sand Loop Level 401, the background is Dark Red, and those cups are buried.

Color Palette Deep Dive

  • Green: The primary body. These are your "filler" cups. Use them to keep the belt moving when you need to reach deeper items.
  • Cream: The belly. It’s the largest single block of color. You’ll need a lot of these, and fortunately, they appear in the middle and bottom layers.
  • Yellow: These are for the highlights on the frog’s thighs. They are scattered. Don't waste them.
  • Red and Blue: These are high-precision colors. They only go into the eyes and the thin stripes on the legs. If you miss the timing on these, you’re just wasting sand.
  • Dark Red: The background. It’s huge. It’s also the last thing you should finish because the tray makes you work for it.

The Danger Zones

The eyes are the nightmare. They aren't solid colors. They are a mix of Red and Blue. If you let a Green cup pour over the eye area, you’ve just added a layer of contamination that might prevent the level from hitting 100%. Also, look at the legs. Those thin blue lines are tiny targets. You need to time your taps perfectly so the Blue sand hits only those narrow strips.

Tackling the Supply Tray in Sand Loop Level 401

The supply tray is a mess. You have two sets of Ropes pinning down the side columns. You have Mystery Cups (labeled with "?") that hide their contents until they hit the belt. Most importantly, you have Recycle Cups at the top and bottom center. These allow you to swap a cup’s color, which is your only way out of a jam if you pull a background color too early.

The Ropes are the primary obstacle. They bind the second and fifth columns. You can't reach the bottom cups in those columns until the top ones are cleared. But wait. The top cups in those columns are Red and Yellow. If you pull them too early without a plan, they just sit on your belt, eating up your 5-slot limit.

The Mystery Cups are the gamble. Tapping a Mystery Cup in Sand Loop Level 401 is like a loot box. In this level, they often contain the Blue sand needed for the eyes. If you don't have an Eye section ready for filling, that Blue cup is just dead weight on your conveyor.

Sand Loop Level 401 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Follow this order. Deviate and you’ll end up with a full belt and no way to progress.

1. Clearing the Top Corners

Start with the Green Cups in the top corners. They are unobstructed. This opens up the tray and gives you immediate sand for the frog's head and limbs. Don't touch the Mystery Cups yet. You need to see the board. Use the Green sand to fill the top-most parts of the frog.

2. Breaking the Ropes

The Ropes on the left and right are holding back your progress. You need to tap the Red Cups and Yellow Cups sitting at the top of these bound stacks.

  • Warning: Only pull one at a time.
  • Wait for the Red Cup to pass the eye. Pour.
  • Once that slot is empty on the belt, pull the next cup from the rope stack. By clearing the top of the rope stacks, you allow the bottom Green Cups and Cream Cups to move up. These are essential for the mid-game.

3. Navigating the Mystery Cup Trap

Now you have some breathing room. You likely have 2 or 3 slots free. Now you tap a Mystery Cup. If it’s Blue: Wait for the eyes or the leg stripes. If it’s Dark Red: This is bad luck. Immediately use the Recycle Cup (the one with the circular arrows) to swap it for a color you actually need right now, like Cream or Green. Sand Loop Level 401 is won or lost on how you use those Recycle Cups. They aren't just a feature; they are a requirement.

4. Filling the Belly and Body

With the ropes gone, you should have a steady supply of Cream Cups. The belly is a massive target. This is the easy part. Just keep a steady rhythm. Tap, wait for the lead time, and pour. Ensure you don't overfill. The game tracks percentage. If you pour Cream where Green should be, you're losing progress.

5. The Background Finish

The Dark Red Cups are mostly at the bottom of the tray. By now, you should have cleared enough of the top layers to access them. The background is the largest area but the simplest to fill. Since the frog is already mostly done, you don't have to worry about "overspray" as much. Just dump the Dark Red sand until the canvas hits 100%.

Pro-Tip for Sand Loop 401

Watch the Recycle Cups at the bottom. If you find yourself with a belt full of Blue and Yellow but the frog only needs Dark Red, use the bottom Recycle Cups to transform that useless sand. It keeps the flow going. Never let your belt hit 5/5. Always keep one slot open. A full belt is a dead game.

Good luck. This frog is a beast, but if you manage those Ropes early, you'll sail through Sand Loop Level 401.
