Sand Loop Level 228 Solution: The Winter Scene
Before you start tapping, look at the color distribution on the top canvas. This dictates your flow.
- The Massive Red Base: The bottom third of the image is a solid block of dark red (ground). This is your safety net. You will need a lot of red sand early on.
- The Blue/Cyan Backdrop: The sky and mountains take up the most real estate. You have plenty of Blue and Cyan cups to feed this, so don't worry about "saving" blue.
- The Orange Core: The house walls are bright Orange. This color is scarce and buried at the bottom of the tray.
- The White Trim: The snow on the roof and the chimney smoke requires White sand. Like the Orange, this is buried deep.
Danger Zones: The pixel art has small details—specifically the dark window on the orange house and the white smoke puffs. These small areas fill quickly. If you spam cups without looking, you might overfill the smoke (White) while trying to paint the roof, wasting valuable sand.

Unlike standard ice that breaks when you clear adjacent cups, these blocks are timers. They tick down every time you successfully clear a cup from the board. Because they sit at the top of columns 1 and 6, they completely block any sand from falling into those slots. You physically cannot use the left or right edges of your board until you have cleared 8 other cups. This forces a "Center Rush" strategy. You have no choice but to drill straight down the middle.

Clearing the Red Ground First
Your first taps must be the two Red cups in the top center row. The canvas has a huge red ground layer that needs filling immediately.
- Tap the top-row Red cups to get them moving.
- Tap the top-row Blue cups next. The sky is large enough to accept them.
- This clears the top "crust" and exposes the second row, which is full of Mystery Cups (grey with question marks).
Managing the Mystery Cup Lottery
Once the top row is gone, you are faced with a block of Mystery Cups in the center.
- Do not spam tap these. You only have 5 slots on your conveyor belt.
- Tap one Mystery Cup and see what color it becomes. Since the ground is Red and the sky is Blue/Cyan, you are statistically likely to get a useful color.
- However, if a Mystery Cup turns Orange or White too early, be careful. The house (Orange) might not be ready to paint if the Red ground isn't finished.
- Keep 2 slots open on your belt at all times during this phase. If you clog the belt with 5 Mystery Cups that turn into colors you can't pour yet, you will deadlock the game.
Breaking the Ropes to Reach the House
As you churn through the Mystery Cups, the Ice Blocks (8) will finally shatter, opening up the side columns. This is your chance to clear the "junk" Blue and Cyan cups on the sides.
- Clear the sides to widen your play area.
- You will eventually hit the Roped Cups on the fourth row. These are bound horizontally. You often have to clear the cups directly above them to unlock the rope.
- Once the ropes are gone, you finally access the bottom row containing the Orange and White cups.
- Send the Orange cups up to build the house walls.
- Send the White cups last to dust the roof with snow. If you send White before the house is built, the sand sometimes has nowhere to land properly, so save these for the finishing touches.
